BIOLASE(R) Files False Advertising Lawsuit Against Competitors

IRVINE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 02/21/14 -- BIOLASE, Inc. (NASDAQ: BIOL), the world's leading manufacturer and distributor of dental lasers, including the Company's proprietary WaterLase®, and a pioneer in laser surgery in other medical specialties, as well as a distributor of digital radiography and GalaxyBioMill™ CAD/CAM systems for dentistry, today announced that it filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Central District of California against Fotona d.d. and Technology4Medicine L.L.C., two of its competitors (together "the Defendants"). The lawsuit alleges six causes of action, and claims that the Defendants have made false and misleading statements regarding BIOLASE's products, technology, and management. The lawsuit, filed on February 20, 2014, seeks both cash damages and injunctive relief.
